Multi-Layers Silk Skirt
I used a full 12 yards of silk for this seemingly simply creation!  The innermost layer is a soft silk habotai, four yards.  The middle layer of a dusty lavender silk chiffon is seamed down to about knee-length, allowing the navy
habotai to peak through.  The top layer of silk chiffon, with a beautiful watercolor print, is seamed only a couple inches, letting both layers show.  Both chiffon layers are also four yards.  All three layers are double box pleated to a royal blue ribbon waist band.

This can be worn with the ribbon/slits over one hip (as was originally designed), or with them in the back.

Most of the cost of this gown is for the fabrics used (the fabrics for this one cost $148 in March 2007).

This skirt was worn under the
Green Fairy corset at Burning Man during the brutal part of the day to protect legs from the sun.
