Wearing a breathtaking red silk gown, Satine originally sent out to seduce a wealthy duke, and instead won the heart of a penniless writer.
Made of red silk satin lined in matching silk, the bodice is fully boned, a corset in its own right, and laces up the back. The skirt is of the same fabrics, a seven-gored Victorian pattern, with a long train suitable for bustling. The large, tailed butterfly bow in the back is not the 80's butt-bows we all remember, but a delicate reminder that a butterfly must be allowed to fly, or will surely hurt itself trying, and die. Just as Satine did. This bow is detachable, red on the outside, lined with black silk satin. Also available in standard satin.
You choose the train length.
Silk satin: $1650
Standard satin: $650
The version below is a custom version using Thai silk, a deeper red than the photos show, shot with black. It also has thicker shoulder straps, buttons up the back instead of lacing, has a shorter train and slightly shorter length in front, and no bow. Customer-supplied silk fabric. Modeled on client's sister.
